How’s the weather?
Weather in Jamaica in April is beautiful: hot and a little humid with cooling tropical breezes. Expect the daytime high to be around 88 and the nighttime to stay warm in the mid-70’s. The brief rain showers that may show up in the afternoons cool things off nicely.
What do I need to bring?
The basics are sunscreen and a swimsuit! Round Hill is not as informal as many Caribbean resorts, so it’s good to have dinner wear. The wedding ceremony is on a lawn and is somewhat formal (dress up!); the reception is on the beach, so be ready to kick off your shoes for flip-flops or go barefoot!
When should we arrive, and how long should we stay?
The wedding itself is on Saturday, the 30th, with the majority of guests arriving Thursday or Friday and staying the weekend. We are really looking forward to time with our friends, especially since so many of you are coming from far away, so the longer the merrier. Please come as early as you like and stay as long as you like! Our travel isn’t finalized yet, so call us if you want to discuss details.
What about the kids?
Round Hill has a great setup for children, including the Pineapple Kids’ Club for ages 3-12, open every day from 9 am until 5 pm and offering nature walks, arts and crafts, water sports, talent shows, reggae lessons and movie/story hour. There are games for older teenagers. Round Hill can arrange for childcare for all children during the wedding ceremony and reception. Let the hotel know if you’ll need this service prior to your arrival.
Where are you registered?
We’re not; your presence at the celebration of our marriage is the best gift you could possibly give us. If you really want to do something more, you can help create a brighter future for all by joining our Kiva team: http://www.kiva.org/team/elizabethbrett
A little bit about Kiva: Kiva is a microfinance organization. Kiva empowers individuals to lend (not donate) to entrepreneurs across the globe, with the goal of alleviating poverty in a long-term rather than a short-term manner.
