Getting to Round Hill:
The easiest way to reach Round Hill is to fly into Montego Bay. Round Hill is about 25 minutes from the Montego Bay airport, Sangster International. Most major U.S. cities and many international cities have direct flights to Montego Bay.
Round Hill will pick you up by van. If you wish, you can use our Facebook Group page to let everyone know when you’ll arrive and to arrange shared airport transfers with other guests.
Rooms are being held in Round Hill’s Pineapple House, which features all oceanfront rooms from which you can see the Caribbean sunset. Round Hill also has many two- to six-bedroom villas, some with pools; these can be booked out entirely or as individual “villa suites”. To reserve, call 1 800 972 2159 and tell ‘em you’re attending the Brooks-Schnittlich wedding. Round Hill is now offering a rate of $300/night to our guests, plus a $100 resort credit per booking (not per guest) which can be applied to food or spa. There is an alternate rate of $350 that includes breakfast, which may work out better if you are staying several days. If you booked early please ensure you are receiving our rate! Sharing villas can be less expensive, depending upon size of villa and number of people sharing.
If you’re looking to share a room or villa with other guests, post a note on our Facebook Group page, or just let us know and we’ll try to connect you with others.
We will release rooms in late February, so please try to book by then.
We really recommend that you stay at Round Hill as all the festivities are taking place at the resort; however, you can also book a private villa nearby. Villas by Linda Smith has a great reputation and they will sometimes waive their minimum stay requirement of one week. There are also villas within the Round Hill compound that are not booked through the hotel’s reservations service; as we come across these we will post them to the Facebook group. You may be able to approach these guys with an offer for a group and get an excellent rate.
There is lots to do at Round Hill and you won’t be bored if you never leave the area – in fact, that’s kind of the plan: great friends together in a beautiful place. That said, there’s plenty to explore in Jamaica if you decide to extend your trip. We love the Negril cliffs and Ian Fleming’s Goldeneye.
About Round Hill:
Originally opened in 1953, Round Hill was conceived by Jamaican-born entrepreneur John Pringle. The 100-acre peninsula was part of Lord Monson’s huge Round Hill Estate which was first a sugar plantation and later grew coconuts and allspice.
Round Hill was (and is) the haunt of literati and 24-hour party people including Errol Flynn, the Windsors, Babe Paley, Noel Coward, Cole Porter, Jack and Jackie Kennedy, Liz Taylor, the Aga Khan, and Fred Astaire.
The wood-paneled bar is lined today with black and white photographs of the owners and their stylish guests enjoying Round Hill’s beach and nightlife.
Amenities & Activities:
Round Hill has a wonderful spa with a full range of treatments and a fitness center, as well as five all-weather tennis courts. Golfers can arrange to play at nearby Tryall Club.
Of course, you’re in the Caribbean; swimming, snorkeling, windsurfing, kayaking, and other water sports are available at the resort.
Round Hill has a PADI dive master available. Nearby divesites tend to be small reefs, with one deep wall dive and several sites great for beginners. You can get certified at Round Hill if you want!
